In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is leveraging the expertise of researchers in natural science and engineering across Canada and providing support for up to $50,000 for one-year projects up, totaling $15 million. This initiative aims to stimulate collaborations between university academic researchers and the public and not-for-profit sectors to address pandemic-related research and technical challenges.

We are proud to announce that Dr. Edward Harvey, Injury Repair Recovery Program Leader and Dr. Geraldine Merle, Principal Investigator, have been awarded funding for their work on sensor driven serodiagnostics for infection and immunity in COVID-19.

Drs Harvey and Merle show great leadership in their contribution to the resolution of this unprecedented crisis and we are proud to see a rapid mobilization of the research community to share their expertise and work collaboratively.
